While the industry will surely keep advancing in the interim, including through the OpenAI hardware developed in collaboration with former Apple design head Jony Ive, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman hints at an intriguing roadmap for Apple’s AI projects.

As per the journalist, Apple is set to unveil the first version of the new Siri early next year, even though it will lack conversational features. Nevertheless, the company believes it will manage to execute fundamental home control tasks, such as playing music, jotting down notes, internet browsing, and video calls. Ultimately, Apple intends to introduce a conversational Siri to its yet-to-be-revealed tabletop robot, realizing the true capabilities of the so-called “virtual companion” that the company plans to infuse with its unique character.
