As everyone prepares to see Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson take on the role of MMA fighter Mark Kerr next month in A24’s “The Smashing Machine,” he’s also dominating the streaming charts this week. Over 20 years post its release, The Rock’s 2003 action-comedy “The Rundown” (helmed by “Friday Night Lights'” Peter Berg) has unexpectedly returned to the limelight, soaring to #4 today on Tubi’s Top Movies list as of this moment.
“This is genuinely an enjoyable film and The Rock was fantastic in it,” one Reddit user praised in a recent post about the movie — which also is one of the first in The Rock’s career. “Unquestionably one of his top roles, if not his best imo.”
