This isn’t due to aluminum being less resilient than titanium; rather, it’s the sharp edges that decrease the scratch resistance of the aluminum oxide layer against items such as keys and coins. According to testing by iFixit, the flat edges of the iPhone 17 Pro models tend to be less prone to incurring permanent damage.
