BGR has monitored iPhone 17 delivery schedules every Friday since September 12, observing stock changes across key North American, European, and Asian markets. Unlike in previous years, it’s not just the latest Pro and Pro Max models experiencing extended delivery periods. The standard iPhone 17, with its reasonable pricing and professional-grade specifications, has become exceptionally popular among consumers.
Seven weeks following the start of preorders, the entry-level iPhone 17 model has sold out in multiple markets, with shipping delays remaining at 2-3 weeks across all color and storage options. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is also unavailable online in certain countries, although demand has been met in others. Availability of the iPhone 17 Pro has also declined compared to last week in France and the U.K., but has seen improvements in the U.S. The only limitations on iPhone Air stock seem to exist in China. Notably, Japan stands out as the only nation among those we are tracking where all four 2025 iPhones can be purchased online without any shipping delays.
Our observations coincide with what analysts have suggested throughout much of October. The three variants of the iPhone 17 are receiving positive responses from consumers globally, whereas the Air is performing poorly in nearly all markets except China. This week alone, reports emphasized the robust sales of the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the U.S. and the strong demand for the standard iPhone 17 in China during the initial 10 days of sales, while other reports highlighted Apple’s plans to significantly cut back on iPhone Air production.
