Although foldable phones pose distinct design obstacles for hardware producers, the outcome is that the cameras on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold aren’t as cutting-edge as those found on the more budget-friendly Pixel 10 Pro. Owners of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold need to accept that the quality of their photos may not align with those captured by the Pixel 10 Pro.
Notwithstanding these limitations, the camera on the Pixel 10 Pro Fold remains noteworthy. It boasts a primary camera featuring a 48-megapixel 1/2.0-inch sensor, an ultrawide camera with a 10.5-megapixel sensor and a 127-degree field of view, as well as a telephoto camera with a 10.8-megapixel sensor capable of up to 5x optical zoom. In general, the images taken by the device are vibrant and sharp, particularly in bright lighting, although they may not possess the depth and detail present in photographs from the Pixel 10 Pro. Google’s image processing on Pixel devices continues to yield visually striking outcomes, even if they are somewhat less precise than those of certain competitors.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is also equipped with an array of camera-centric features, such as Best Take, Add Me, and Magic Editor, which now accommodates text-based input for editing instructions. This enhancement enables users to request specific tweaks without the hassle of navigating intricate tools.
Nevertheless, some functionalities are absent compared to other Pro models. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold does not include the new Pro Res Zoom feature found on the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. This feature utilizes generative AI to improve details in photos zoomed in beyond 30x, although perceptions may differ regarding the appeal of AI-generated improvements. Regardless, this capability is missing from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, restricting its functionalities in comparison to its Pro peers.
