U.S. government aiming to develop next-generation nuclear reactors. However, there is a strong rationale behind the non-utilization of nuclear-powered missiles. Nuclear energy is fundamentally perilous and fraught with danger. Installing a nuclear reactor within a missile that will be traveling at high velocities poses a catastrophic risk. Constructing and maintaining nuclear reactors is complex. Should an incident occur during flight, it could detonate before reaching its target. If the missile has not even departed from its homeland when such an incident transpires, the very individuals it was designed to protect could become the casualties. Moreover, while Russia expresses confidence in its nuclear-powered missile initiative, it has already left a trail of destruction in its path.
