Displaced from its trajectory, this float was found beneath the Denman Glacier’s ice in an area extremely challenging for researchers to monitor and gather information. Although the research team was concerned it was irretrievably lost, it resurfaced nine months later. Accompanying it was a collection of vital data regarding the Denman Glacier and the effects of climate change on Antarctica as a whole.
