“Cross” draws inspiration from the “Alex Cross” book series authored by James Patterson, featuring Aldis Hodge in the leading role. Hodge is the third individual to portray Alex Cross, succeeding Morgan Freeman and Tyler Perry. Freeman embodied the character in 1997’s “Kiss the Girls” and 2001’s “Along Came a Spider,” while Perry assumed the role in the 2012 feature, “Alex Cross.”
