However, the reality is, they completed the whole film without Slimer.” Director Ivan Reitman (whose son, Jason, carried on the franchise after his passing) and the remainder of the “Ghostbusters II” team only contemplated including the ghostly troublemaker after the animated series’ creators, Joe Medjuck and Michael C. Gross, highlighted that he was the most favored and cherished character in the franchise.
