Bluesky’s website and app faced ongoing issues on Thursday, with service interruptions attributed to a denial-of-service attack, as per COO Rose Wang. According to the social network’s status page, problems began around 2:42 a.m. ET and persist. The site and app sometimes load slowly or return error messages. Switching to specific feeds can show an error about high traffic, while popular feeds like Discover or Bluesky Team are affected, despite some personal feeds working. Visiting user profiles may lead to error messages, requiring refreshes. Bluesky protocol engineer Bryan Newbold commented at about 3:46 a.m. ET on the services’ struggles, but the company hasn’t announced the cause or a fix time. Bluesky hasn’t responded to comment requests. Other communities on the decentralized network’s protocol seem to function normally.
