Feeling cold and lonely? ChatGPT has a drink for that. By Neal Broverman on April 17, 2026.
Starbucks is venturing into AI by introducing a beta app in ChatGPT, allowing a chatbot to select your coffee or refresher. Users can start a prompt with “@Starbucks” within ChatGPT, describing their mood or preferences, like non-dairy or low-caffeine beverages. According to Starbucks’ website, users can also upload a photo capturing their vibe, which the AI will use to select a suitable drink.
Suggested prompts by Starbucks include “@Starbucks, I want something bright to start my morning” and “@Starbucks, I’m craving an afternoon boost that isn’t too sweet.” Users will then complete their purchase via the Starbucks app or Starbucks.com. This initiative aims to have customers explore new drinks, or as Starbucks states, use AI to support the human experience of discovering a drink you’ll love.
