Apple has already revealed a multitude of products thus far, such as updated versions of the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro, the iPad Air, the completely new MacBook Neo, and more. Even with a hectic season up until now, there’s still plenty more on the horizon to anticipate.
### iPads
Two new iPad launches are speculated for 2026: the standard iPad and the iPad mini.
The new basic iPad is projected to be a modest upgrade, incorporating either an A18 or A19 chip for enhanced Apple Intelligence, plus the potential inclusion of an N1 chip for better connectivity.
Conversely, the iPad mini is expected to receive a major overhaul since its last redesign in 2021. It should include an OLED display, water resistance, and an upgraded chipset. The addition of OLED technology would be a significant improvement for the iPad mini, marking it the second iPad to utilize this display technology following the iPad Pro in 2024.
The iPad Air has just been updated with the M4 chip, making it a reliable option for anyone looking to upgrade. The M5 iPad Pro, although not recently revised, will remain the latest model for a while, with the M6 model anticipated in 2027.
### iPhones
To date, the sole iPhone launched this year is the iPhone 17e, which represents a minor enhancement but includes MagSafe. If you’re searching for a new phone, this model is a strong contender. However, if you’re considering used options, there are choices available.
As we near the midpoint between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 18 series, those contemplating the iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max may find the upgrades limited. Expected enhancements include a smaller dynamic island, a new lower aperture telephoto lens, and a novel variable aperture on the primary lens. If these updates don’t pique your interest, waiting for the subsequent models may be prudent.
For the iPhone Air or iPhone 17, it’s wise to purchase now, as they probably won’t receive a refresh until spring 2027. Apple appears to be adopting a staggered release plan for its non-flagship iPhones.
The iPhone Fold, a fresh model without a predecessor, is set to launch in September at a price range of $2000-2500. If a foldable iPhone interests you, holding out for this model could be beneficial.
### Apple Watch
For those who upgrade frequently (every 2-3 years), the Apple Watch Series 11, SE 3, and Ultra 3 are excellent choices, particularly the SE 3, which was only updated last year.
Infrequent buyers (every 4-5 years or more) might consider waiting for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, mainly due to chipset advancements. The Series 12 is anticipated to feature a new chipset deriving from the A19 family, essential for long-term software support.
Speculation indicates that the Series 12 may also integrate Touch ID, while the Ultra 4 is expected to present design modifications and a new chipset.
### Macs
For Macs, the MacBook Neo and MacBook Air are advisable for immediate acquisition, especially since the MacBook Neo reportedly has low availability. The MacBook Air was recently updated, and significant advancements aren’t expected shortly.
The MacBook Pro provides two choices: if you’re interested in the base model 14-inch with standard Apple Silicon, you can purchase now. However, if you seek OLED and a new design, it’s wiser to wait for the forthcoming redesign.
The Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Studio are all scheduled for updates soon, likely transitioning from the M4 to M5 chip family. Although these devices are currently low in stock, it may be wise to wait for the updates.
### Everything Else
No new Vision Pro or Vision Air models are anticipated in 2026, but new Apple AI smart glasses might be on the way. Furthermore, a premium variant of AirPods Pro 3 with IR cameras is expected, which could connect with Apple Intelligence.
Apple is also preparing significant Home products, including updates to the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini, alongside a new smart home display product rumored to be called HomePad, featuring a 7-inch display and an A18 chip.
