BMW has unveiled its latest concept, integrating an E Ink panel into the hood of its vehicle, making the technology nearly ready for widespread production. This new concept was introduced at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. Unlike previous models that employed custom-sized E Ink panels covering the entire vehicle, the BMW iX3 Flow Edition embeds E Ink Prism technology directly into the hood’s structure, enhancing durability and practicality for mass production. Although the color-changing feature, with eight grayscale animations, is currently limited to the hood and not yet available for purchase, this development marks a significant step towards practical, color-changing vehicles moving beyond the concept phase.
