Save $149.01: Amazon has the M5 Apple MacBook Air, 13-inch (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) nearly at its lowest price on April 27. At $949.99, this 14% discount brings it just 99 cents above its record low of $949, cheaper than the $1,099 list price.
The MacBook Neo is an affordable option, but it’s not the best value for everyone. Mashable’s laptop expert Haley Henschel found the M5 MacBook Air to be a better value, with Amazon offering deals on the 13-inch version with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $949.99. This is $149.01 cheaper than the list price and available in all four colorways.
The M5 Air’s starting storage is 512GB, higher than the M4 Air’s 256GB. Despite a $100 increase, it’s still $100 cheaper than the M4 model with the same storage, making it a better value. While Mashable reviewed the 15-inch model, Henschel suggests the 13-inch version as a more affordable, portable option, sacrificing two speakers and GPU cores.
For everyday tasks, the M5 chip is more than capable, except for daily video editing, where the Pro model’s fan might be appreciated. The 12MP webcam and portability justify its ‘Air’ name. Despite a 60Hz refresh rate, it’s an excellent choice and more futureproof than the cheaper Neo.
