You can now mix and match light and dark modes on the Kindle Colorsoft and Scribe Colorsoft interfaces.
Amazon is introducing an inverted dark mode feature for Kindle Colorsoft and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft with color E Ink screens, which previously could only invert ebook pages. This update will roll out globally in the coming weeks and will be available for download on Amazon’s site.
Dark mode will be system-wide on Colorsoft and Scribe Colorsoft devices, but users can choose specific sections to use it. For example, you might enable dark mode for the home screen, ebook library, and reading, while keeping the Scribe’s notebooks in light mode.
Additionally, Scribe Colorsoft’s notebooks will feature Smart Shapes, allowing users to add lines, arrows, circles, triangles, and rectangles to notes through the toolbar. A new hold-to-snap feature will convert freehand shapes into precise forms, ensuring tidy notes.
