AI has developed new cancer treatment strategies, and it seems researchers are now leveraging automated technologies to assist in monitoring earthquakes and volcanic activity. The revelation of these 86,000 previously unnoticed earthquakes beneath Yellowstone is both alarming and fascinating, particularly considering that several years ago scientists determined Yellowstone has a greater volume of magma beneath it than was anticipated.
Uncovering these tremors shouldn’t induce fear, however. Although it does indicate that the subterranean activity at Yellowstone is more volatile than previously thought, the recent study published in Science Advances analyzed 15 years of seismic data, meaning that these earthquakes did not all occur within this year or anything of the sort.
