Apple has launched visionOS 26 beta 3 for the Apple Vision Pro, representing the second significant software update since its introduction. This update upgrades the spatial computer with numerous new functionalities and enhancements.
A notable change is the elimination of the beta label from the Personas feature, which now provides increased expressiveness and clarity, offering a complete side profile view and precise details such as hair, lashes, and skin tone.
Besides Personas, visionOS 26 beta 3 brings several improved spatial experiences:
1. **Spatial Widgets:** These enable users to position widgets in the physical world, which stay fixed each time the device is utilized. Users can personalize widgets with a variety of frames, widths, colors, and depths.
2. **Spatial Scenes:** Leveraging a generative AI algorithm and computational depth, this feature converts photos into 3D, delivering a more immersive viewing experience.
3. **Spatial Browsing:** This capability in Safari permits users to read articles without distractions and view spatial scenes from photos, along with supporting native playback of 180 and 360-degree recordings.
4. **Shared Spatial Experiences:** This allows two Vision Pro users to enjoy experiences such as watching 3D films, playing games, participating in FaceTime calls, and collaborating on work projects within the same digital environment.
Moreover, visionOS 26 beta 3 accommodates third-party accessories, including the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller. Along with this update, Apple has also rolled out the third test versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26.
