iOS 26’s Live Translation feature is set to arrive in Europe at last. Apple had previously postponed the rollout due to concerns regarding the Digital Markets Act (DMA), but now European users will benefit from Live Translation using AirPods.
Users will have the ability to translate between English (both U.S. and U.K. versions), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain), Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional). Furthermore, Japanese users will have the option to substitute Siri’s side button functionality with third-party voice assistants like Gemini or Alexa. This capability comes as a result of new legislation.
