The iPhone 17 series — along with the fresh iPhone Air — is officially on the market. Therefore, if you’ve obtained one, be sure to adjust some crucial settings before getting started. Over the past weekend, users discussed their experiences with Apple’s inaugural ultra-slim iPhone. While the compromised battery performance and camera configurations, along with a steep price, might deter some consumers, the fact that Apple has successfully integrated a plethora of technology into such a slender device has certainly amazed many users. Regardless of the inaugural iPhone Air’s performance, it’s intriguing that this ultra-slim phone may offer a preview of Apple’s forthcoming foldable phone.
As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter, the iPhone Fold is said to resemble two titanium iPhone Airs positioned next to each other. This is achievable due to Apple’s ability to incorporate nearly all components into the iPhone Air’s camera plateau — a remarkable design achievement that the company is expected to maintain even for future iPhone versions — including this highly-anticipated foldable model expected to debut in 2026.
Considering that the iPhone Air is already priced high — starting at $999 — Gurman predicts the iPhone Fold will be priced at no less than $2,000 — essentially the price of two iPhone Airs. The rationale, of course, is that the new technology needed to create this foldable is unprecedented in the Apple ecosystem.
