Apple has just unveiled its latest M5 MacBook Pro. Currently, the emphasis is on the entry-level Mac featuring a 14-inch screen. In comparison to its predecessor, the M5 chip provides a significant upgrade in GPU and AI capabilities. Ultimately, the new 10-core GPU includes a specialized Neural Accelerator within each core, achieving 4x peak GPU compute relative to the M4.
Offering a 30% improvement in performance over the prior model, the company has incorporated the third generation of its ray-tracing engine and developed a 16-core Neural Engine that enhances AI processing tasks. On Apple Vision Pro, for instance, generating a Persona or engaging with spatial experiences is now 50% swifter than the earlier version.
