The iPhone 17 series is experiencing delivery delays of as much as three weeks, varying by region. The iPhone Air has sold out in China, where its sales commenced only on October 17. A report from Counterpoint Research on Sunday further emphasized the robust performance of the 2025 iPhones in two significant markets, with the research firm stating that the iPhone 17 series considerably surpasses iPhone 16 sales in both China and the U.S. within the first 10 days of its release.
Counterpoint Research indicates that the iPhone 17 series, including the iPhone Air, has outperformed the iPhone 16 series by 14% in both China and the U.S. Additionally, the iPhone Air has performed well, surpassing the sales of the iPhone 16 Plus during the initial 10 days. Last week, reports suggested that Apple opted to reduce iPhone Air production while increasing output for the other three models. Counterpoint Research points out that the standard iPhone 17 has been the primary catalyst, underscoring its success in China. The iPhone 17 Pro Max experienced the highest demand in the U.S., where carriers are offering attractive trade-in incentives to entice customers to upgrade.
