incorporated a larger battery into iPhone 17 models in regions where the eSIM-exclusive variant will be offered. While the company has been providing eSIM iPhone versions in the U.S. since the iPhone 14, this marks the first instance where choosing this model will result in extended battery life.
At this point, we only have the battery specifications for iPhone models available in Europe, as it is compulsory for brands to disclose this data. Although we will need to wait for someone to dismantle the new iPhones to uncover the exact battery capacity of the U.S. models, here are the figures currently available:
According to Apple, the eSIM-only models can provide up to 39 hours of video streaming on the iPhone 17 Pro Max, 33 hours on the 17 Pro, and 30 hours on the iPhone Air. In Europe, the performance decreases to 37 hours and 31 hours, respectively. The Air experiences no reduction since it’s eSIM-only worldwide.
