search engine DuckDuckGo is overhauling its Privacy Pro subscription as part of its Duck.ai initiative. In this update, the company is incorporating more sophisticated AI models and additional benefits to its subscription, while still granting users the option to keep using LLMs for free or ultimately discontinue them if AI isn’t appealing to you.
The revised DuckDuckGo subscription remains priced at $9.99 per month or $99 annually. Nevertheless, alongside OpenAI’s GPT-4o and GPT-5, as well as Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4 and Meta’s Llama Maverick models, subscribers will also receive a VPN, Personal Information Removal service, and Identity Theft Restoration.
“We believe that the most effective means of safeguarding your personal information from hackers, scammers, and privacy-infringing corporations is to prevent its collection in the first place. To achieve this, we provide a protective layer for all your online activities. Our browser, for instance, is equipped with a collection of built-in privacy features, including a search engine that never tracks your activity,” stated Gabriel Weinberg, CEO and founder of DuckDuckGo.
