The Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to officially debut on June 5th, but a YouTuber has managed to obtain the console ahead of time, posting a short unboxing clip online. The 8-second video showcases the shrink-wrapped console along with two Joy-Con 2 controllers in their retail boxes. Although Nintendo swiftly had the video taken down from YouTube, it has since been replicated across social media platforms.
The YouTuber mentioned that the console needs an update to operate, indicating that even if someone gets it beforehand, they won’t be able to utilize it until the official launch date. This event comes on the heels of another leak in which a picture of 20 Switch 2 consoles was circulated, implying that inventory has begun being shipped to retail outlets. Nintendo may plan to produce their own unboxing video to combat these leaks.
