In contrast to speculation that Google contemplated launching the Pixel 10 earlier this year, a recent report indicates that the company is set to unveil its flagship device once more in August.
As per Android Headlines, Google is gearing up to hold the next Made by Google event on August 13, where the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold will make their appearances. The outlet also anticipates the introduction of the Pixel Watch 4 on the same day, though there’s less assurance regarding the wearable.
The site highlights that this coincides with the exact date when the Pixel 9 series was revealed in 2024. Unlike the previous year, Google is reportedly going to deliver the Pixel 10 phones exactly one week later, on August 20, which is two days earlier than the Pixel 9’s launch date.
Google has experienced its fair share of leaks throughout the years. If history is any indication, it won’t be long before the company officially reveals the event.
What we know about the Pixel 10
Addressing the topic of leaks, we have a clear understanding of what the Pixel 10 series may look like, thanks to comprehensive design leaks from earlier this year. Overall, Google’s upcoming phones are expected to mirror their predecessors closely, having nearly identical dimensions, similar screen sizes, and retaining the horizontal Camera Bar.
Furthermore, images of a Pixel 10 Pro prototype from a Chinese social media platform were posted online by Mystic Leaks (via 9to5Google) on Monday, providing insight into some of the subtle modifications planned for the high-end device. These changes include the glass covering the rear cameras extending nearer to the edges of the Camera Bar and the SIM card tray relocating to the top-left edge of the device. Again, nothing significant, but Pixel 9 users are likely to observe the differences.
The most notable change will probably be in the chip, as Google is anticipated to upgrade to the Tensor G5 this generation. Android Authority notes that while it may not bring a substantial performance increase over the Tensor G4, it will still offer enhanced speed.
