

Google Search (AI Mode) along with the Gemini application is set to launch just in time for the bustling Black Friday and holiday shopping period. During a session with journalists, Vidhya Srinivasan, Google’s Vice President for Ads & Commerce, mentioned that the innovative AI shopping functionalities in AI Mode and Gemini will create seamless experiences that resemble “vibe-shopping” online, contrasting the more laborious processes of locating products through conventional search methods, and the additional time spent in tracking down the desired items.
The latest shopping capabilities in AI Mode represent Google’s most significant enhancement to online shopping, enabling users to find items by simply articulating their thoughts, rather than needing to identify the precise keywords required to yield the results they seek. AI Mode will generate responses featuring rich visuals for the products you might be interested in, such as a new sweater (see image above). Additionally, AI Mode will facilitate comparisons of products it believes you would like more details on (see image below). AI Mode will present price, reviews, and inventory data, and will allow you to continue the dialogue as you fine-tune the search criteria.
Google harnesses its AI models and information from the Shopping Graph to drive the new “vibe-shopping” functionality in AI Mode. This includes over 50 billion product listings, with 2 billion being refreshed every hour. AI Mode will also display advertisements based on your conversations. Google indicated in the briefing that prompt data is utilized in accordance with the current personalization settings in Google Search.
