some “leaks” from Google. Overall, however, these leaks have largely been sparse on detailed specifications aside from indicating enhanced performance with Google’s new Tensor G5 chip. A recent leak hints that the priciest phone Google has launched to date, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, might feature something I wish my Galaxy S25 Ultra included: Qi2 compliant charging.
If you’ve kept track of the Qi2 charging rollout, you might know that the S25 Ultra technically supports Qi2 charging. Nevertheless, unlike the anticipated Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which is rumored to be Qi2 compliant, the S25 Ultra is merely Qi2 ready. Although those terms seem alike, they entail one significant distinction. Qi2 devices can charge wirelessly adhering to the Qi2 standard. However, they lack built-in magnets, which is the key reason many users appreciate the iPhone’s MagSafe feature.
In contrast, Qi2 compliant devices include built-in magnets, enabling the phone to align perfectly with Qi2 chargers and connect with magnetic-based accessories. And, per leaker Evan Blass, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to be Qi2 compliant upon its release.
