The Verge reported on October 21 regarding the ongoing legal confrontation between Prosser and Apple. For those who might remember, Apple initiated a lawsuit against Prosser last July for disclosing confidential details about the upcoming features of iOS 26. Prior to Apple’s announcement of iOS 26 at WWDC in June, Prosser had disclosed the Liquid Glass redesign of iOS 26 on his YouTube channel, along with newly designed system icons and updated UI controls.
This month, Apple submitted a motion targeting a default judgment against Prosser. The company asserts that Prosser, despite having been served last summer, did not reply to its complaint within the specified legal timeframe. Apple also indicated that it made multiple attempts to ascertain whether Prosser intended to respond to the complaint. The motion further states that Prosser did not respond to any of Apple’s inquiries. Interestingly, Prosser maintains that he has been in communication with Apple.
“What I can tell you is that despite the reports and what the court documents indicate — I have indeed been in active communication with Apple since the early stages of this matter,” Prosser said in his statement. “The idea that I’m disregarding the case is false. That’s all I can disclose.”
The situation remains somewhat vague. Does Prosser believe that his discussions with Apple render a response to the company’s complaint unnecessary? Is it possible that he is engaging with certain individuals at Apple while the legal team remains uninformed? As it stands, more questions than answers persist.
