XGIMI has revealed its intention to dive into the augmented reality (AR) glasses sector with its innovative MemoMind brand. While BGR had the opportunity to experience the product firsthand during its official launch at CES, the outlet was also invited to Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona to take another look at these glasses, which are set to be launched next month. Unlike other players in the AR glasses market, XGIMI is entering this arena due to its existing production of various components for its projectors, including the optical elements.
This internal drive posed a challenge to determine if its engineers could achieve the same quality in their projector lenses for AR glasses, and they were pleased with the outcome. Consequently, XGIMI plans to introduce not just one model of AR glasses but three variations that will feature no AR display to a single or possibly two displays over the year. This approach will provide customers with a diverse range of options, all sharing a key characteristic: none will have the capability to capture photos or record videos. Instead, they will assist with daily inquiries and other functionalities without raising privacy issues for those nearby when customers finally obtain them.
