In light of initial speculation about Apple’s intention to release a new “iPhone e” each year, sources indicate that the forthcoming iPhone 17e may share the same design as the recently launched iPhone 16e, suggesting the company will reserve the Dynamic Island cutout for its premium models.
Nonetheless, the persistence of the iPhone 14-style design, along with a single camera and potentially no MagSafe support, could render the iPhone 17e as a minor upgrade. However, the Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station (via MacRumors) claims that Apple is preparing for a significant enhancement for the next iPhone e.
Per the leaker’s insights, the iPhone 17e is anticipated to showcase a fresh industrial design featuring the Dynamic Island, closely resembling an iPhone 15 Pro, and include an A19 chip. However, the leaker suggests that Apple will likely stick with the 6.1-inch display and 60Hz refresh rate (while the latest iPhone 17 models are projected to offer enhanced refresh rates or ProMotion).
