iOS 26’s Live Translation feature is finally being introduced in Europe. Previously, Apple postponed the launch due to complications with the Digital Markets Act, but now European users can utilize Live Translation with AirPods.
Users will have the ability to translate between English (U.S. and U.K.), French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Spain), Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional). Moreover, Japanese users will have the option to substitute Siri’s side button functions with third-party voice assistants like Gemini or Alexa. This capability will be enabled by new legislation, and other regions shouldn’t anticipate a similar change anytime soon. Alongside these significant updates, here’s what else is on the way in iOS 26.2.
