Windows 11, although certain users have indicated that their SSDs become unrecognized after an undefined period while attempting to transfer a large file between drives.
Importantly, not every drive seems to be impacted, and user Necoru_cat reported on X that the problem is predominantly associated with transferring files larger than 50GB in size — particularly when moving either individual files or several files simultaneously if the SSD usage exceeds 60%.
The commenter also mentioned conducting tests on various drives and found that SSDs equipped with Phison NAND controllers tend to face the issue most frequently — although not all drives with this feature are affected. The Japanese site NichePCGamer validated these observations as well, highlighting that numerous drives such as the Corsair Force MP600 — which is equipped with a Phison E16 controller — alongside non-Phison drives, like SanDisk’s Extreme Pro M.2 NVMe, encounter the issue.
