Netflix Miniseries Reaches Streaming Triumph Following 8 Emmy Victories

Netflix series “Adolescence” — appeared and sounded astonished while giving his acceptance speech at the Emmys on Sunday, when he received the award for best lead actor in a limited series.

His show, filmed in real-time and depicting the effect on a family of their teenage son facing murder charges, was a significant winner over the weekend, bringing Graham his first three Emmys of his career (Graham and the series’ co-creator, Jack Thorne, were also honored for writing and for outstanding limited series). “To stand here today before my colleagues, and to be recognized by you, is the most humbling experience I could envision in my life, and it illustrates that any aspiration is achievable,” Graham stated during his acceptance speech.

The renewed excitement surrounding “Adolescence” due to its Emmy success has (not surprisingly) also helped to further elevate the show’s already remarkable popularity on the streaming platform, where it continues to hold the position of the #2 Netflix series of all time based on viewership.
