Named ChatGPT Agent, this AI model inherits the Operator’s capability to browse the internet in a virtual machine on behalf of the user. Operator was released in early 2025, but OpenAI restricted access to ChatGPT Pro subscribers only. This option represents the most costly premium ChatGPT experience, costing $200/month. Agent merged Operator with Deep Research capabilities that allow ChatGPT to investigate specific topics further for you.
OpenAI aimed to roll out Agent to ChatGPT Pro, Plus, and Team users last week. However, due to its immense popularity among Pro users, the company had to postpone access for Plus and Team users. As is typical with new AI features, ChatGPT Agent was initially unavailable in Europe. A week later, OpenAI made ChatGPT broadly accessible to Plus and Team users. The advanced AI model is also now available in Europe. I’ve already experimented with Agent, and I’m truly impressed with its capabilities.
