Opera Neon Enhanced with Sophisticated AI Deep Research Assistant

The agentic browser, Opera Neon, has just undergone its first significant update since its release a few weeks back. Users can now take advantage of the Opera Deep Research Agent (ODRA), the fourth agent added to the browser. In contrast to other agentic AIs, Opera Neon integrates several LLMs to harness their benefits while employing the company’s technique of parallelizing tasks on its server by breaking down requests into smaller components. As per the company’s DeepResearch Bench, the newly introduced ODRA offers more accurate responses than the finest models from OpenAI, placing it slightly below Google Gemini.

“The concept we are developing is what we refer to internally as Symphony – an orchestration layer that fundamentally transforms how users engage with multiple AI agents,” stated Krystian Kolondra, EVP browsers at Opera. “Instead of requiring users to navigate each agent separately, we are building a cohesive intelligence layer where a master AI oversees all these diverse agents.”

Here’s what Opera Neon encompasses:

Opera explains that Neon is designed for more than simply surfing the web, as the agentic AI can represent you and independently tackle intricate projects. It is capable of executing tasks, writing code, and providing results directly within the browser. A key feature of Opera Neon is Tasks, enabling the browser to arrange and manage searches within a singular context. By designating a Task, you can have the AI assess, contrast, and operate across various sources at once. With Cards, users can augment their queries using community prompts. Lastly, the Neon Do functionality allows you to utilize the browser to compare new shoes, ascertain which may suit you better, and purchase them on your behalf.

Opera is progressively granting access to those who signed up for the waitlist when Opera Neon launched. The standard subscription for accessing Neon’s features is priced at $19.90/month, but Opera plans to unveil additional benefits and different tiers as it broadens access to a larger user base in the future.
