Pedro Pascal’s Celebrated Sci-Fi Animated Movie Now Accessible on Peacock

selling new AirPods, Pedro Pascal consistently knows how to tug at our heartstrings. Whether it’s bidding farewell to a child who resembles Yoda, having his head crushed like a melon in “Game of Thrones,” or facing a brutal ending (spoilers) with a golf club in “The Last of Us” (though, we’re certain he’ll return in Season 3), he has certainly left us emotional on numerous occasions. Yet, in 2024, Pascal ventured beyond his usual roles and entered a recording studio to voice a snarky fox (as they often are) who enlightens an outsider about the environment in the animated feature, “The Wild Robot,” which has just made its debut on Peacock.

Helmed by Chris Sanders (“How To Train Your Dragon,” “Lilo & Stitch”), “The Wild Robot” is based on Peter Brown’s book of the same title. The storyline follows robot Roz (Lupita Nyong’o) who finds herself marooned on an island devoid of human presence, compelled to nurture an orphaned gosling until it is capable of flight. Simultaneously, Roz must adapt alongside other creatures, including a fox named Fink (Pascal), who starts to adjust to his technologically advanced neighbor. The result is one of the most endearing, tear-jerking family films in recent times, and it has a great opportunity to secure its place among the classics in the future, especially with the plans set for Roz and her animal companions.

The Oscar-nominated Wild Robot is set to return for a sequel
