Possible Enhancements for the Next Powerbeats Fit Earbuds

Following the introduction of the Powerbeats Pro 2 earlier this year, Beats is preparing to launch new earbuds named the Powerbeats Fit. While the company has kept details about this product under wraps, it is reasonable to assume it will succeed the 2021 Beats Fit Pro by incorporating several new features along with a rebranding.

Once these earbuds debut later this fall, Beats will have two distinct earbud lineups: The Buds series, aimed at providing a seamless listening experience, and the Powerbeats series, tailored for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

When the Beats Fit Pro came out in 2021, they matched the first-generation AirPods Pro in quality but offered a better fit, featuring a small in-ear hook and USB-C compatibility. At that time, they were seen as the ideal alternative to AirPods Pro for those who found Apple’s earbuds slipping out of their ears.

However, following the launch of the AirPods Pro 2 and the recent Powerbeats Pro 2, these earbuds began to feel outdated in comparison to these newer models. With a third generation of the AirPods Pro also anticipated to arrive soon, Beats may be preparing several enhancements for the Powerbeats Fit.

Here’s what might be introduced with the Powerbeats Fit:

**Enhanced H chip:** Given that the Beats Fit Pro utilized the Apple H1 chip, it’s possible that Beats will upgrade to the H2 or the forthcoming H3 audio chip for these earbuds. While the newer chip could enable additional features, it will inherently improve sound quality, Active Noise Cancellation, and Transparency Mode.

**Refined design:** Although Beats has given us a glimpse of these earbuds on athletes, it remains uncertain how much the design has been adjusted. Nevertheless, after four long years since their initial release, it stands to reason that the company has modified both the internal and external components of these earbuds.

**Additional ear tips:** The next iteration of the Fit lineup will likely include a broader selection of ear tip options, as Beats has been providing five distinct tips for the Powerbeats Pro 2.

**Support for wireless charging:** The Beats Fit Pro lacked wireless charging capabilities, making it highly probable that Beats is gearing up to include this feature in the upcoming model.

**Enhanced battery performance:** Another potential enhancement from the Los Angeles-based company could be improved battery life. The previous model offered six hours of listening time and up to 18 hours with the charging case. The Powerbeats Pro 2 provide 10 hours of listening on a single charge and up to 45 hours in total, indicating that there is significant potential for bettering the battery life of this product.

**Heart rate monitoring:** If Beats is aiming to distinguish the Buds lineup from the Powerbeats series, it would make sense for the Powerbeats Fit to incorporate a heart rate sensor.
