Producers and Sites of Panasonic Televisions

one of the prominent TV brands by 2025, alongside brands such as LG, Sony, and Samsung. In its formative years, Panasonic manufactured its televisions internally across various production facilities at multiple sites.

For its plasma television models, for instance, the firm operated several factories in Japan, including one located in Hyōgo Prefecture known as the Amagasaki Plant. It inaugurated its Pilsen, Czech Republic facility in 1996 to manufacture Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) televisions, which later evolved to produce plasma models. However, at the end of 2021, the company revealed a strategic pivot to FlatPanelsHD, declaring it would outsource all of its manufacturing to outside collaborators instead.

FlatPanelsHD observes that the company had previously outsourced a portion of its television production, but the 2021 decision marked the definitive end of in-house manufacturing. Outsourcing was not a novel concept, and by that time, numerous television brands had adopted this approach. Some brands, such as the budget TV manufacturer Vizio, do not manage production in-house. Meanwhile, Sony and Samsung acquired at least some of their OLED displays from LG.
