Reasons for Samsung’s Elimination of Bluetooth from the S Pen

recent launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra brought expectations that the brand might bring back this feature alongside several others that were still present with the previous S24 Ultra model, but that did not occur. Although Samsung remained silent regarding this aspect during this year’s launch, the company did mention the absence of Bluetooth support for the S Pen in 2025. Samsung informed Android Police that it eliminated Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) because the feature was infrequently used and due to “gesture controls on the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch for hands-free photo capture instead.”

Nevertheless, enthusiasts of the S Pen don’t necessarily share the same views, with many taking to Reddit and other online platforms to express their dissatisfaction with the persistent absence of Bluetooth support. Yet, it appears that the continuing grievances haven’t prompted Samsung to alter its strategy thus far. Both customers and the company seem preoccupied with the advantages of the new Samsung S26, including an ingenious cooling mechanism and the fact that at least the S Pen has managed to survive for another iteration … and another device.
