This is why, in recent years, Apple has enhanced the privacy aspects of the AirTag to ensure that it begins to emit sound if it becomes disconnected from its original owner’s iPhone or detects another AirTag nearby for a prolonged duration. For the AirTag to function properly, it must be in proximity to a Bluetooth device, like an Apple product, enabling the AirTag to connect to the network and transmit an updated signal. While this is ideal for verifying whether your luggage arrived safely at the airport, it is not as effective with moving entities.
