Japanese analysts suggest that achieving mass production of a foldable iPhone in the third quarter of 2026 for a September launch could be challenging, given that Apple has not completed the design for essential parts. Mizuho Securities indicated that the anticipated production volume for the foldable phone’s panels has been adjusted down from 13 million units to 11 million, and then to 9 million. The analysts anticipate that even if Apple succeeds in releasing a foldable iPhone on schedule next year, it will likely not be able to produce more than 5-7 million units in 2026.
