In the next few months, Apple is set to reveal the iPhone 17 series. Following a year filled with speculation and chatter globally, there are still mixed reports and last-minute leaks that are creating a sense of suspense before the official launch.
Regardless of the situation, there are numerous indications that we should anticipate significant design updates for the iPhone 17. Here are the most significant rumored modifications we are looking forward to.
Dynamic Island modifications
This rumor is the most debated to date. Initially, it was believed that Apple would reduce the size of the Dynamic Island for the iPhone 17 Pro variants, but display analyst Ross Young asserts that the company will not implement any changes for this year’s models, as the tech giant has no intention of incorporating Face ID components beneath the display.
Currently, Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station claims that Apple will roll out a revamped Dynamic Island across all iPhone 17 variants. As of now, it remains uncertain how the new design will appear. Nevertheless, it seems these may involve software updates rather than actual hardware modifications.
Larger iPhone 17 variants
Following a minor increase in display sizes for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, speculation indicates that the iPhone 17 will come equipped with a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 17 Air is expected to have a 6.6-inch screen. Although a Plus variant would have boasted a 6.9-inch display on par with the current Pro Max size, it appears that Apple opted to design this ultra-slim device a bit smaller.
Reduced bezels
Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station also anticipates that all iPhone 17 models will feature bezels as slim as those on the iPhone 16 Pro models. However, it remains uncertain whether Apple aims to provide the same display technologies in the 17 Pro and base models.
For the first time since Apple introduced ProMotion and Always-On Display technologies to the Pro lineup, the company intends to include these features in the base model.
