The Wall Street Journal addressed a query regarding the progress of Taco Bell’s integration of AI in their drive-thru service. Mathews elaborated that there are instances when the AI fails to meet expectations. On the other hand, he remarked that “at times it genuinely astonishes me.”
For those who haven’t kept up with the conversation, the fast food taco chain introduced an AI-enhanced drive-thru system at over 500 of its locations last year. This initiative aimed to expedite the ordering process for patrons while providing assistance to the staff working within the establishment.
