Incognito mode in Google Chrome isn’t as secure as you might think.
The issue is complex. According to Google’s guidelines, it gathers data from your search queries, your communications, your Chrome browsing history, and more. Those who are not supporters of Google’s AI assessments may not be shocked to discover that it utilizes web information to enhance its AI, even if the publisher has opted out of such processes. Google was also required to settle for $1.4 billion with the state of Texas concerning the collection of user data without user consent.
While this is already troubling, the legal proceedings that forced Google to disclose its user search data with rivals further intensify privacy concerns. Now, not only is Google harvesting your search data with or without consent, but it is also obligated to share your search information with other entities. The silver lining is that Google is not the sole search engine available, and alternatives can provide significantly better security for users.
