June promises to be an exhilarating month for Netflix originals, with series such as Ginny & Georgia, Tires, FUBAR, and, undeniably, Squid Game all coming back with fresh seasons. These are set to premiere in the upcoming weeks, but there is still a wealth of content to enjoy in the interim, as Netflix introduced 29 new TV shows and films to its streaming collection on Sunday, June 1.
Instead of having you sift through everything on your own, we’ve compiled three of the most thrilling new entries that we believe should take precedence on your June watch list. The complete list is provided at the bottom for those interested.
Barbarian
The horror flick Barbarian from 2022, both written and directed by Zach Cregger in his first directorial venture, is bound to get your pulse racing. Georgina Campbell plays Tess, a woman who discovers a man named Keith (Bill Skarsgård) already occupying her Airbnb in Detroit. She opts to stay and ultimately uncovers a terrifying secret hidden in the basement.
The Birds
In April, Netflix revealed it would be including several of director Alfred Hitchcock’s most acclaimed films in its streaming catalog this June. While they are all definitely worth viewing, I’m inclined to suggest The Birds, a chilling thriller centered on mysterious bird attacks that would pair well with Barbarian for a solid double-feature.
Pokémon The Series: XY
A number of fans contend that Pokémon the Series: XY represents the pinnacle of the animated series. If you want to see for yourself, all 140 episodes are now available for streaming on Netflix, showcasing Ash Ketchum’s adventures in the Kalos region along with the debut of Mega Evolution.
With that covered, here’s the complete list of titles that became available on Netflix on June 1, 2025:
