Will the Ultra-Slim iPhone 17 Air from Apple Bend?

Prior to the launch of the iPhone 16 series, I already decided I wanted an iPhone featuring a larger display than the standard iPhone Pro size I had been utilizing.

I chose the iPhone 16 Plus first, then transitioned to the iPhone 16 Pro Max, testing both devices for a few months each. The displays were incredible, and that’s what I primarily miss about them.

However, I was not a fan of the heft. I felt the phone’s sizable dimensions more with the Plus. The iPhone 16 Pro Max ultimately provided a superior experience. The titanium frame could be the reason why the Pro Max felt so pleasant to hold.

Those four months spent with the larger iPhone 16 models made me realize Apple was headed in the right direction with the iPhone 17 Air. This is the ultra-slim iPhone 17 variant that will take the place of the Plus size this year. We’ve seen leaks about the Air since last year.

The iPhone 17 Air could grant me the large-screen iPhone experience without the cumbersome dimensions. I’m willing to accept that, even if it means compromising battery life and camera capabilities. Furthermore, if a new rumor holds true, I won’t need to be concerned about durability. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the only iPhone 17 variant featuring a titanium frame.

Apple incorporated titanium frames with the iPhone 15 Pro models, and it proved to be an excellent decision. Titanium is both sturdy and lightweight. These iPhones certainly offer a better holding experience compared to the stainless steel models Apple previously used for the Pro and Pro Max before the iPhone 15 series.

Rumor has it, Apple is reverting to aluminum for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. I don’t consider this a downgrade. Aluminum is sufficiently durable and light.
