The lawsuit contends that Apple, upon recognizing the significant threat posed by AI to its fundamental business, is employing unlawful strategies to maintain its relevance. “In a frantic effort to safeguard its monopoly in the smartphone market,” the lawsuit states, “Apple has allied with the entity that gains the most from stifling competition and innovation in AI: OpenAI, a monopolist in the generative AI chatbot domain.”
As previously discussed, Musk’s claims appear somewhat weak considering that various AI applications have excelled on the App Store in recent months. For example, the DeepSeek AI application was the top app on the App Store earlier this year. Additionally, Perplexity AI also rose to become the most downloaded app on the App Store in India a few months back.
