The new streaming stick is priced at $34.99 and does not need a separate wall adapter.
Amazon has introduced a new Fire TV Stick HD, which is touted as the slimmest version yet. Priced at $34.99, the stick is designed to be 30% thinner than its predecessor and can be powered directly through a TV’s USB port.
This updated design removes the need for a separate wall adapter, making it more convenient for travel. However, if a TV lacks a USB port, the new Fire TV Stick HD can still be powered using a USB-C cable and a wall adapter.
The streaming stick includes the revamped Fire TV OS, support for Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. It also features Amazon’s upgraded voice assistant, Alexa Plus, which better understands and responds to natural language. Amazon plans to introduce a new Adaptive Display accessibility setting to the device, aimed at enlarging text and menus while proportionally scaling content artwork.
The Fire TV Stick HD is available for preorder and will start shipping by the end of the month to customers in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
