Roku reports that more than 50% of US broadband households are now using its streaming devices. In April, over 100 million households were using Roku devices, including streaming sticks, boxes, and Roku TVs. Roku, once part of Netflix, became independent in 2008. Streaming services have surged since then, with Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus gaining millions of subscribers. Roku also offers its own streaming services, such as the Howdy platform and the ad-supported Roku Channel, which is among the top watched in the US. As of a recent milestone, Roku claims its devices are used by over half of US broadband households and holds the position of the most popular streaming OS, used in 28% of US households.
