Google is introducing features to assist in planning summer travel. Announced on Friday, Google’s AI in AI Mode now checks stock availability at local stores and allows users to track hotel prices directly in Search.

The updated AI Mode enables Google to call local stores and locate specific items for users. Initially launched on Search last November, this feature will soon be available on AI Mode in the US.

Users can specify their needs, such as looking for clip-on polarized sunglasses, and Google will handle the inquiries and provide details.

Previously, users could track hotel prices at the city level, but now they can do so for specific hotels. On desktop, this is done by searching for a hotel name and using the new price tracking toggle, while on mobile, it’s available under the “Prices” tab. An email alert is sent if the price changes during selected dates.

Google also shared trending destinations on Google Flights for summer 2026, including St. Maarten, Stockholm, Kansas City, Missouri, and Sarasota, Florida.

Search interest in “AI travel assistant” and “AI concierge” rose by 350% over the past year, with “how to use AI to find flight deals” and “AI flight booking” seeing significant increases in recent months.
